Portrait Empress Eugenie c1870 Parian by Alt, Beck & Gottschalck 17.5″ (44cm). Pale Parian bisque shoulder head of an adult lady with slender face, elongated throat, blonde sculpted hair captured under a green snood and decorated with a white feather and purple luster plume. Painted cobalt blue eyes with upper eyeliner, faint gray lashes, long arched blonde feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, soft cheek blush, closed pink mouth with red centerline. Muslin cloth stitch-jointed body, detailed pale bisque forearms and lower feet, painted black boots and pink laces. Wearing a possible original hand-stitched organdy walking out ensemble with layered French lace, Broderie Anglaise undergarments. Very fine detail of facial painting and decorations.
